I trained as a mature student at Hammersmith College of Art on a four year diploma course receiving an N.D.D. honours degree. Following this I taught sculpture on and off over a number of years and exhibited at various colleges and galleries.

Having spent the last 30 years in business I have now returned to the world of art and sculpture, working in clay, plaster, welded steel and wood. The main influences in my work are the human form and animals, animals being a recurring theme.

I see many connections between animals and human beings. I get the same feeling of dignity, tenderness and vulnerability from animals as I do from humans. I have been constantly drawn to the work of the ancient Egyptians, for their skill and understanding of materials, form and colour and for their portrayal of both human and animal form.
